I am Simon and for those of you who don’t know me I’m a determined Guernseyman who for over 40 years built, developed and ran one of Guernsey’s largest Hotels on the island’s West Coast. More importantly though I’m an experienced businessman with a proven track record, a father of four, grandfather of nine and husband. I have a vested interest in future proofing Guernsey’s success.
I have been a keen political observer for many years and I now feel the need to use my skills and experience for the good of the Island. I want you to not only hope for change, but vote for change.
Why am I standing for Election?
The last political term has been a turbulent one and I really believe we need to stop ruining our island and focus on the growth of the economy and doing the very best we can for Guernsey in a decisive cohesive way.
Guernsey needs to thrive, be built back better post Covid-19 and provide the best possible services and education for all, underpinned with one of the strongest economies in the world. Our economy needs to be at the heart of our decision making; a thriving economy will mean lower taxes and the ability to pay back our borrowing.
Our Government needs more people with common sense and business acumen to make the right decisions and stick to them. No more barriers to progress - it is tough enough. No more change for change sake and as little legislation as possible. With no more flip flop decisions.
I am pro-business and strongly believe Guernsey has to maintain an “open for business” reputation but I also want the best for all islanders, everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive.
